When you notice performance issues with your computer, it may be helpful to run an Antivirus scan or a Diagnostics scan. The results from these scans can help determine which part of your computer is having the problem. Running scans on your computer can take some time, so it might be a good idea to run these during your lunch break or at the end of the day if you're at the office.
- Power your computer off. Make sure the computer or laptop is plugged in to an electrical outlet.
- Turn your computer on. When the Dell logo appears, press the F12 key several times.
- Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to select Diagnostics, and press Enter.
- Record any error codes that result from running diagnostics, and share them with your IT Freedom Helpdesk technician.
