How to Install Intune on a Windows 7 Computer

  1. Apply all available Recommended and Optional updates. Be careful not to accidentally install Windows 10.
  2. Open a web browser and log into the Intune End-User Portal, using your Azure Active Directory credentials.
  3. Near the top of the window, there will be a warning dialog stating that the device either isn't enrolled or recognized. Click it.
  4. When asked to identify the device, select I don't see my device listed.
  5. Download the Intune software when prompted. This will download an installer for Intune, most likely in .exe format.
  6. Once downloaded, run the installer. Note that the setup wizard may launch behind your browser window.
  7. If prompted, enter your Azure Active Directory credentials.
  8. After the setup is complete, log into the Intune End-User Portal and verify that the device has properly registered.
